Usually the Projects we are involved as a Sub Consultant are large, high value Projects where we are part of a Team of Professionals, that has to go through multiple Stages of Design before Completion of the Project.

MEP & HVAC DESIGN - Principle Consultancy Services

Sustainable MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) Consultancy, and MEP design is a process that ensures a building's safety, comfort, and functionality. MEP systems include HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning).

  • Pre Design - Strategy Definition and Preparation of Brief
  • Design Development - Concept Design and Spatial Coordination - initiate 3D Model
  • Technical Design - Full Specification and Tender Package with completed 3D Model
  • Construction Stage - Manufacture & Construction Detail, 3D Model revision and Site Support
  • Handover and Monitoring - Commissioning & Completion Information, Facility Management

Use of RIBA Methodology of Project Development through all Stages from Pre Design through to Monitoring completion results.
Energy consumption of all Building Systems should be assessed through Design, with Control strategies of application.
Building services engineering systems are a major consumer of energy. The current focus on sustainability and the green agenda means that more attention is being paid to this area. This includes the operational efficiency of systems, the selection of materials and managing end-user expectations.

MEP & HVAC DESIGN Sub Consultants - Expertise Services to Consultants and Contractors

Subconsultants are Consultants that are hired by other consultants or contractors to help resource Projects. This practice is common in the construction industry, where Consultants/Contractors may hire subconsultants to help with large jobs that require additional skilled and experienced Resources.

Examples of Roles:

  • Experienced professionals that a Building Services Consultant appoints to perform some or all of the work for which they have been engaged on a project or part of Project. This can happen when the consultant lacks the resources or expertise to complete the work themselves.
  • Developing and co-ordinating the design. Preparing production information and tender documentation. - Inspecting the work of contractors and other suppliers. Providing Support on Site, example Resident Engineer.
  • Consultants may also hire subconsultants to gain additional expertise, especially for large-scale tasks that require multiple functions. For example, an Architect might hire subconsultants to handle services that are outside of their expertise, such as building services design.
  • Consultants engaged directly by a Contractor, usually on design and build projects or in relation to a portion of the design for which the contractor is responsible.

PI insurance: If warranted by the size of Project or required responsibility of Scope/Role. Usually requested based on valuation of potential Liability. Sometimes the Liability is undertaken by client with sufficient validation process involved. Can be quoted on requestion on submission of Contract and Scope of Works Agreement.
